Two Fort Wayne firefighters injured in Saturday afternoon house fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two Fort Wayne firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling a house fire Saturday afternoon.

According to a release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department, crews were called to a home on Freeman Street near Middle Street just before 1:45pm and found the house almost completely engulfed.

It took 44 minutes to bring both floors of the building under control, during which time the two firefighters were hurt. They didn’t need medical transport, and there also wasn’t anyone inside the home at the time.

The cause of the fire hasn’t yet been determined and is under investigation.
