Family okay after morning house fire on Barr Street

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a reported house fire on S. Barr St. around 4:15 am Saturday. Once at the scene, firefighters found heavy fire and smoke coming from the first floor of the residence. They say all occupants of the home had self-evacuated before the Fire Department’s arrival.

This blaze was under control in about 10 minutes. There was moderate fire and water damage, and heavy smoke damage to the home. No injuries were reported and this fire remains under investigation.
