Man shoots dog in Fort Wayne’s south side

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man who said he felt threatened by a Doberman shot and killed the dog.

Police were called to an alley between Fox Avenue and Oakley Street at around noon on Friday, according to 21Alive. They received reports of a man shooting a dog.

The man told police when they arrived that he was walking his dog and a gate had been left open. He says a Doberman-type dog charged at him, causing the man to shoot the dog because he thought the Doberman was going after his own dog.

Police say that this particular Doberman has had reports of being aggressive before. No charges will be filed against the shooter.
