MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (WOWO): A 52-year-old Celina man has been arrested after police said they found a meth lab under a bridge.

Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said deputies were called to Wabash Road near State Route 219 at about 5 p.m. Tuesday on reports of a suspicious man in the area near the bridge.

When an officer arrived, he located a man fitting the description. The man was identified as James McDowell and said he was fishing in the area.

When deputies searched his bicycle they found a pouch containing jars of liquid meth, police say.  McDowell allegedly admitted it was meth that he’d cooked somewhere in Indiana.

Deputies found suspected liquid meth, drug paraphernalia, equipment and materials used in making meth during a search around the bridge.

He’s currently being held at the Mercer County Jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
