FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): If you love Pit Bulls, downtown Fort Wayne is the place to be today.

It’s the fifth year in a row for the Fort Wayne Pit Bull Coalition’s annual Pits in the Park event at Freimann Square. The event focuses on teaching responsible ownership for all pet breeds and species, although of course Pit Bulls are the stars, and features live music, contests, food, and fun.

There are contests for “best costume” and “best adoption story,” among others, and a number of pets available for adoption. The event runs from 11am to 3pm, and wraps up with a “pit bull parade.”
