Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb talks 21st century Indiana with WOWO

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The race for Indiana Governor is close and both candidates will tell you their ideas to elevate Indiana to the next level, are leading the polls.

Republican candidate Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb tells WOWO News, to get Indiana from good to great, state government needs to work on three things: retaining, retraining and recruitment.

“…that’s why we’re transforming our department of workforce development into more of an employment hub.”

He says to achieve that “employment hub,” industries need to be aligned with their regions.

“…like up in northeast Indiana, the medical device capital of the world, you have to make sure the Trine Universities are aligned – and they are – with the industry. And … you have to make sure that our kiddos that are coming out of high school, have a ticket to success in their hand.”

Wednesday we’ll have Democratic candidate John Gregg on with Charly Butcher during Fort Wayne’s Morning News, to get his take on how to move Indiana to the next level.
