Fort Wayne native charged with war crimes

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne native is currently in custody at a military prison in California on war crime charges.

Eddie Gallagher is a graduate of Bishop Dwenger high school and a Navy SEAL, and the Journal Gazette reports he is being held on several charges, including shooting two “non-combatants” and posing for a photo next to an ISIS fighter he had just stabbed to death, during his time serving in Iraq last year and this year.

About a dozen other SEALs are facing similar accusations, but so far Gallagher is the only one in prison. He was arrested last month.
