A Local High School Student Gets a Big Honor

Anneke Lehman, a sophomore at Carroll high school, participated in the annual Congressional Art Competition. Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide contest to recognize artistic talent by high-schoolers. Students from each district can enter in an original artwork for a chance to have it displayed in the Capitol Building for entire year. Anneke won the contest for Indiana’s 3rd Congressional District with her picture titled “Frozen in Time,” of Fort Wayne’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Bridge. She and a guest will be flown to Washington, D.C. to attend the national reception at the end of next month.
