A Quiet FWCS Board Meeting

The Fort Wayne Community School Board meeting was a bevy of activity last night. The event that many believed would be the busiest was the 2013 budget for 288 million dollars which includes a 3.2% property tax increase. The board set aside a chunk of time to take in public opinion, and when they did that, mum was the word; no one stepped forward.  They’ll vote on the budget on October 22nd. They did, however, approve the spending of 265 thousand dollars to purchase laptops for special education teachers.
