FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): 204 more homes are coming to Aboite Township.

Ground has officially broken for the $20-million Canal Flats apartment complex near the Lutheran Hospital campus. The Journal Gazette reports the complex will feature 19 three-story buildings, and while it was originally scheduled to open this June, owners had to deal with challenges connected to streams and wetlands on the construction site.

County planners approved the project in 2014. It will feature one, two, and three-bedroom units, some of which will have dedicated garages. The smallest one-bedroom apartment will have a monthly rent of $725.
