Accused child molester from Waterloo arrested

WATERLOO, Ind. (WOWO): Steuben County authorities joined Indiana State Police in arresting a Waterloo man on child molesting charges.

Just before 3 p.m. Tuesday, 45-year-old Matthew Thomas Foote was arrested and booked into the Steuben County Jail. He’s charged with a single count of child molesting, which is a level 4 felony.

Investigators spent five weeks looking into Foote’s alleged sexual contact with a child under 14 years of age during the summer of 2015. The incident happened at a home in rural Steuben County.

He’s being held on $100,000 bond.
