Agency looks for 500 workers for Toyota Gibson County plant

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP): A staffing agency is hoping to find 500 new workers for Toyota's Gibson County plant at an event next week in Evansville.

Aerotek will host the event 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at WorkOne Southwest, 700 E. Walnut St. Applicants should arrive at 9 a.m.

Aerotek helps Toyota fill its staffing needs. Workers start as employees of the staffing agency and can become full-time employees of Toyota.

A Toyota spokeswoman says the openings are due to a transition of workers to Toyota's payroll, and that it's not because of a major expansion.
