Allen County Clerk Issuing Same-Sex Marriage Licenses

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The first same sex marriage licenses are being issued in Allen County.

Just hours after a federal judge overturned Indiana's ban on same-sex marriage today. The county clerk has started handling requests. Officials with the clerk's say they've already had applicants within the hour.  U.S. District Judge Richard Young ruled the same-sex marriage ban violates equal protection under the U.S. Constitution.

The Indiana attorney general’s office said it would appeal the ruling but declined further comment.
