Allen County Coroner’s Office ID’d Fort Wayne man found dead in yard

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man was stabbed to death over the weekend.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office says Samuel L. Hardrix, 22, was found dead in the yard of a home located in the 1400 block of Schilling Avenue. The cause of death is sharp force injuries and the manner of death is homicide.

Police were called to Schiling Avenue at about 9 a.m. Sunday after a homeowner noticed a man lying unresponsive in her backyard.

Paramedics pronounced Hardix dead at the scene.

He is the 25th homicide victim in Allen County in 2016. The homicide is still under investigation.
