Anderson Annexation Plan Faces Roadblocks

LAPEL, Ind. (AP) — Efforts by Anderson officials to annex land for an economic development corridor could be thwarted by property owners who want to become part of the town of Lapel. A group of 10 landowners has proposed annexing about 30 acres of property stretching from the southeast corner of Lapel to Pendleton. Anderson Mayor Kevin Smith wants to annex about 17 square miles to create the corridor.
