Another WOWO Scam Alert

INDIANA, (WOWO): We've got another WOWO consumer alert to pass along. This one deals with fraudulent calls demanding immediate utility payments.

The Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor is sending out a warning to utility customers saying scam artists are claiming to work for their electric or gas company and claiming that the customer has a delinquent bill.

The scammer then threatens to disconnect their service until the fake bill is paid. The IOUCC says don't give out any information and hang up immediately. State law requires firms to give customers at least a 14 day written notice before disconnecting service for non-payment.
