Arrest Made in Indy Halfway House Shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Authorities have confirmed a 22-year-old man was arrested in Illinois for his alleged connection to the killings of two 34-year-old women at a halfway house in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Lieutenant Richard Riddle said Thursday that Eric Horton was taken into custody in Urbana, Illinois. Riddle wouldn't specify charges, calling it an active investigation.

Online records for Illinois' Champaign County Jail show Eric Horton of Indianapolis held on a fugitive from justice charge. The Indianapolis Star reports online records in Indiana's Marion County show he faces two counts of murder.

It was immediately unclear if Horton had an attorney. A listed number could not be located for him on Thursday.

Authorities found the bodies of India Barnes and Tomika Mack on November 28th at an Indianapolis residence.
