Building of New Restrooms at Indiana Dunes Behind Schedule

CHESTERTON, Ind. (AP): Construction work is running a few weeks behind schedule on a restrooms and showers facility at Indiana Dunes State Park along Lake Michigan.

The facility is part of a new pavilion and banquet center being built at the park that's been opposed by several environmental groups.

The new restroom facility with family dressing rooms for beachgoers was scheduled to be open by Memorial Day weekend.

Park property manager Brandt Bauman says the project has encountered delays and that the facility should be open by the third week of June.

Portable restrooms are available near the pavilion and restrooms are also available in the park's picnic area.
