Bundle Up As Frigid Weather Nears

STATEWIDE, (WOWO) — Temperatures and wind chill factors will be in the single digits across Indiana this weekend.

“The coldest air will arrive, though, Monday and Tuesday of next week,” said Jason Puma, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Puma says lows late in those evenings will be around 0.

“On Tuesday, we’ll only have highs near 8 degrees. That will be one of our coldest days yet this year,” said Puma.

Puma says a “quick-hitting” system will move in Friday night and exit on Saturday.

“Rain amounts might reach a quarter of an inch in some spots,” said Puma.

These bitterly cold temperatures and wind chills are also the reason the snow hasn’t been melting in most Hoosier cities and towns.

“This arctic air is going to be the big story across the Midwest and most of the country,” said Puma.
