Cause of Death Confirmed for Missing Elderly Man Found at Crash Scene

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): An autopsy was performed Wednesday morning on the body of a missing 72-year-old man who was found dead at the scene of a single-vehicle accident near I-469. According to the Allen County Coroner, Ronald Paisley of Fort Wayne, died of blunt force trauma and his manner of death has been ruled an accident.


Officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department were called to the accident around 11:30 a.m., Tuesday. The car ended up at the bottom of a creek off of I-469 NB near MM 19, just east of New Haven. The vehicle was found top-down in a field about 50 to 75  feet away from the interstate. Authorities believe the car did not come off the interstate, but possibly a service road near Minnich Road.

Paisley is the 2nd traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2015.


Meanwhile the crash remains under investigation.
