Change in command coming at 122nd Fighter Wing

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): There will be a new commanding officer at the Air National Guard’s 122nd Fighter Wing next month.

Col. Michael Stohler will take over from Col. Patrick Renwick in April, according to the Journal Gazette. Renwick will be moving to a new role at the Indiana Air National Guard’s Joint Forces Headquarters in Indianapolis.

Renwick has served as the commander of the Fort Wayne air base since September 2014. He says, “I am incredibly thankful for my time here in Fort Wayne and I look forward to continuing to serve the Indiana Air National Guard at the state level. I am humbled and proud to have served alongside the Blacksnakes of the 122nd and I will truly miss working as commander of our nation’s finest Fighter Wing. However, I am honored to pass the torch to Col. Stohler, a combat proven aviator and career Blacksnake with deep roots in the community.”

Stohler has served at the 122nd Fighter Wing since 1985 in various roles, starting as an enlisted airman.
