Charges Filed Against Robbery Suspects

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Official charges have been filed against two men accused of an attemped robbery at a Fort Wayne Dollar General store.

43-year-old Anthony Gant and 31-year-old Christopher Johnson are both charged with robbery and criminal confinement. Police say they tied up a customer and employee at the Dollar General at 3121 E State Blvd near Brentwood Elementary School on August 23rd while taking cash and cigarettes. The Journal Gazette reports that Gant had a handgun during the robbery.

When police arrived, Gant and Johnson tried to escape through the front door. Gant was shot by police; Johnson was caught a short time later.
