City Employee Benefits Slashed

The Fort Wayne City Council had their first public hearing last night to let residents’ voices be heard about proposed ways to fix the city’s budget. But, according to the Journal Gazette, the focus of the meeting was on the $2 million that will be cut from city employee benefits. These benefits include vacation pay and sick days. Now, city employees will get just 5 sick days a year and will use a new system of short-term disability time.
