City giving away historic building if right person can be found

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The City of Fort Wayne is giving away an historic building… if you can move it.

Connie Haas Zuber from Fort Wayne Architecture & Community Heritage tells WOWO News the century-old building is in the path of a project that would build a roundabout at that intersection.

“The building is at Five Points. The intersection of Goshen Rd, Sherman, and Lillian Avenue. The City’s willingness to give it away was a result of us asking them ‘what’s the best possible way to save this building?'”

The deadline to approach the city with a plan for moving and repurposing the building is today. It was originally a gas station before being used more recently as a bait shop.
