City to Clean Railroad Westside Elevations

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne is putting wants to put its best foot forward.

Plans to pour $337,000 into sprucing up railroad elevations on the westside were approved Monday by the Redevelopment Commission.

The plan includes painting, lighting and cleaning the overpass. It includes the bridge at Catalpa Street and Lindenwood and another over West Jefferson.

Mayor Tom Henry says its a way to make the city more welcoming and attractive while providing civic pride.


When finished it will be decked out in an orange-red color with brush and other debris removed.

Officials say its a gateway into downtown Fort Wayne.
