Crews Continue Clearing Debris from Fort Wayne Parks

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Cleanup efforts continue in the city of Fort Wayne.

According to our Partners in News at 21Alive, debris is scattered within 86 parks, including litter, branches, and entire trees from recent flooding and high winds. About 150 trees were uprooted throughout the city after the windstorm ripped through Fort Wayne in late June.

Crews are still concerned with clearing the 40 trees that fell on top of local homes and roads.

All of the downed trees will be chopped up for landfill use so the parade route can be cleared for the Three Rivers Festival this weekend.
