Criminal Investigation Leads to Six Felony Charges

KOKOMO, Ind. (WOWO): A two-month long prescription fraud investigation by Indiana State Police resulted in the arrest of 42-year-old Heidi Hodson.

Hodson was arrested on a warrant alleging two felony counts for forgery and four felony charges for obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.

Detectives started the investigation after a Kokomo doctor reported Hodson, an employee of the doctor’s office, had fraudulently obtained prescription drugs. Hodson allegedly phoned in bogus prescriptions to local pharmacies. The doctor also reported that Hodson allegedly wrote fraudulent prescriptions with stolen sheets from the doctor’s prescription pad.

Maller’s investigation revealed that Hodson allegedly called in or wrote fraudulent prescriptions for the controlled substance Hydrocodone. Starting in March 2013 until July 2013, Hodson allegedly used the names of her two sons as she ordered fraudulent prescriptions at pharmacies in Howard County.

She was arrested at a Kokomo dentist office where she was currently employed. She’s in the Howard County Jail with a $30,000 bond.
