Criticism Being Aimed at the IN Department of Child Services

INDIANA, (WOWO): Criticism is being aimed at the Indiana Department of Child Services for investigations into child deaths and near-fatalities that are sometimes still taking too long.

The child welfare agency has been given recommendations to speed up such investigations. The D.C.S. implemented a policy two years ago to complete such assessments within 180 days, but a report following cases last year shows the agency still isn't always meeting that deadline.
