INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO/NETWORK INDIANA): President-elect Donald Trump will be in Indianapolis Thursday afternoon to say more about the deal to keep Carrier in Indiana instead of outsourcing the company and the jobs to Mexico.

Carrier Cooperation has confirmed there’s a deal to keep more than a thousand jobs at the plant in Indianapolis. In a statement released by the company, officials said there will be “significant improvements” to the facility on the city’s west side and without offering specific details, they said incentives offered by the state were “an important consideration.”

However, the statement made no mention of the Carrier plant in Huntington (UTEC) where another 700 workers were told their jobs are being moved to Mexico.

Trump, along with Vice President-elect Mike Pence, will discuss the details of the Carrier deal alongside company officials. Stay tuned as WOWO will continue to follow this story.
