Developers of strip club surrender lawsuit against Angola

ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO): A couple that has been fighting for years to open a strip club in Angola has thrown in the towel.

Alva and Saundra Butler have asked a federal judge to dismiss their suit against the city, as well as the city’s Building Commissioner and Zoning Administrator, after a three-year court fight. The judge has agreed to do so.

The couple claimed, according to the Journal Gazette, that the city made changes to zoning ordinances solely to block them from opening up the proposed business on West Wendell Jacob Avenue.

Neither side was awarded any financial damages, but the city is considering this a legal victory.
