Document: Fishers Teen Selected Victim at Random…

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ Court documents reveal a teenager charged with murder in the slaying of a 73-year-old suburban Indianapolis man chose the victim at random.

The documents released by the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office say investigators seized a planning note from 17-year-old Maxwell Winkler with steps that included “select prey'' and “enjoy kill.''

They also say a teacher at Hamilton Southeastern High School tipped off investigators that the Fishers youth grew a beard before the Saturday slaying of Henry Kim and returned to school clean-shaven on Monday.

Kim was found shot three times with his throat cut in a subdivision near Geist Reservoir where both he and Winkler lived. Authorities say Kim was taking an evening walk when attacked.

Winkler's being held without bond. A message seeking comment was left for his attorney.
