FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): There are rumblings that the Fort Wayne Komets will be parting ways with their big-league affiliate.

Our partners in news at 21Alive broke the news last night that the Komets and their National Hockey League partner, the Colorado Avalanche, are parting ways despite there being one year left on their affiliation deal.

However, Komets General Manager David Franke told the News-Sentinel that his team is still Colorado’s ECHL affiliate and there’s “nothing more to say.”

Colorado team officials haven’t commented on the reports. Either way, you’ll still be able to hear every Komet game on WOWO this year; their season begins October 14th.
