Fire Forces Warsaw Community Schools to Cancel Classes

WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): A fire closed an area school district today.

Warsaw Community Schools announced this morning that a fire that caused extensive damage at the district's Transportation Building forced the cancellation of classes. Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert says nobody was hurt:

“We're extremely thankful for that, and for the local fire departments responding so quickly… we're extremely thankful everyone got out safely.”

Hoffert says there was no way to adapt for the district's numerous transportation routes in time to have school today, adding that the keys to some of the buses that weren't damaged ended up lost in the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
