Fire that Killed 2 Children Believed Accidental

NINEVEH, Ind. (AP) _ A central Indiana sheriff says he believes a house fire that killed two young children was an accident.
Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox says investigators haven't found any signs of criminal activity connected with Friday's fire in the rural town of Nineveh. Cox tells the Daily Journal he believes the fire was a terrible tragedy.
Authorities say 6-month-old John Slusher-Abbott and 18-month-old Haley Slusher-Abbott died when they were trapped inside their family's second-floor apartment. Their mother has been hospitalized in critical condition with severe burns.
Johnson County Coroner Craig Lutz tells The Indianapolis Star that investigators are awaiting lab results and need to conduct interviews with more witnesses before ruling on what caused the fire in the community about 25 miles south of Indianapolis.<br />
