Firefighters injured fighting apartment fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two Fort Wayne firefighters were injured dealing with an apartment fire last night.

Crews were called to the Villa Capri Apartments, just off Decatur Rd and South Anthony Extended, at about 6pm to find a fire in the second floor of the apartment, with heavy smoke and heat throughout.

It took firefighters 40 minutes to bring under control, during which two firefighters were injured. One was taken to the hospital, and the other was treated and released.

The two adults and two children that lived in the apartment had all managed to get out safely before firefighters arrived.
