FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Starting at 12:00 p.m. on February 15, the Fort Wayne Fire Department will take applications for their August firefighter recruit class.

Qualified applicants should be between 21-35 years-old and dedicated to Fort Wayne’s public safety.  Applications should be turned in no later than March 8, 2019.  Classes start in August and recruits that graduate will start their employment as firefighters by Christmas at their assigned station.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department expects to hire 15-25 new firefighters.  Applications are available online only.  Aspiring applicants may be able to gain access to internet and computers at the City of Fort Wayne Human Resource Department’s Job Kiosk between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at Citizens Square.  For more information and instructions related to the hiring process click here.
