FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A former head pro at the Fort Wayne Country Club has died.

Bill Kratzert Jr. died Sunday afternoon, according to the Journal Gazette, leaving behind six children and a local sports legacy.

The Western Golf Association had once honored him with a “gold medal of appreciation,” and he was also responsible for hosting the Mad Anthonys Charity Classic every year.

Kratzert is being remembered as a “consummate professional,” who also had a hand in developing talent he noticed while working at the club.
