FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):A Fort Wayne man is facing charges after stealing thousands of dollars worth of metal from a local construction company.

55-year-old Vincent Smith is accused of stealing nearly $40,000 worth of metal and tools and reselling them to local scrap yards.

Smith had relations with a local construction company that does power line work for AEP in the Fort Wayne area.

According to a press release, police used hidden cameras and night vision to keep close watch over Smith while he loaded up his vehicle and sold the metal to local scrap yards. He's believed to have accomplices in the case, after making a profit on the metals he scrapped this year.
