FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man is in the Allen County lockup after jumping from a rooftop to escape officers on Wednesday.

Sgt. Mark Brooks with the Fort Wayne Police Department tells WOWO news that around 7:00 p.m., detectives were serving a drug related warrant at an apartment duplex located in the 600 block of Anderson Avenue.

When officers knocked on the door, Cedric Edwards jumped approximately 15 feet off the roof of the home and took off running.

Edwards was caught moments later. After a brief checkup at a local hospital due to his jump, he was taken to the Allen County lockup. He was already facing two separate counts for violating drug court. He’s now also being charged with resisting police and visiting a common nuisance.

During their search, police also found Amanda Gross inside the apartment. She was arrested and charged with maintaining a common nuisance and possession of synthetic marijuana.
