FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): February unemployment rates in Fort Wayne went down to 5.8 percent, from 6.5 percent in January.
The Journal Gazette reports the 5.8 percent applies to metropolitan Fort Wayne, including Allen, Wells and Whitley counties.
Neighboring states, including Michigan, Illinois and Kentucky also saw declines in unemployment numbers for Februrary.
IPFW researcher Valerie Richardson told the Journal Gazette, the numbers may be attributed to an increase in retiring Baby Boomers who no longer need a job.
