FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) _ General Electric officials say the company preparing to tear down three of the 13 buildings at its largely dormant Fort Wayne complex.
 
       GE spokesman Matt Conkrite says demolition work could begin within weeks.
 
       The company once had more than 10,000 workers in the city, but announced in March that it would close the last of its Fort Wayne operations early next year, eliminating about 90 jobs.
 
       Conkrite tells The News-Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1smJC9T) the company is planning to remove the large lighted “GE'' sign from atop one of the remaining buildings. He says it will be placed in storage and that the company will consider proposals for reusing it.
 

       Conkrite says GE has talked with city officials about possible redevelopment of the complex, but nothing has been decided.
