GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A Grant County man is accused of abusing one of his grandchildren and plotting to kill the child’s mother.

Randy McKinney is accused of molesting a five-year-old girl last summer. But while in court this week to be formally charged with child molestation, our Partners in News at ABC 21 report the case got even darker, as it was revealed that McKinney had also hired a hitman to murder the girl’s mom, his daughter-in-law.

He first wanted it to look like an overdose but then opted to have her shot. The “hitman” was actually an undercover police officer.

McKinney will be back in court in December.
