Great Tree Canopy Comeback This Saturday at Fort Wayne Parks

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Even though the weather is getting colder, some local volunteers aren't forgetting about local parks yet.

In fact, they'll be working this Saturday to preserve their parks for the future. The Friends of the Parks of Allen County are inviting you to plant new trees in parks and public spaces as part of the Great Tree Canopy Comeback.

Over 250 trees will be planted at Franke, Johnny Appleseed, Lakeside, Memorial, Fox Island, and Werling Parks. The idea is to combat the loss of trees that happens in these parks yearly.

You will need to register in advance by sending an email to the organizers.
