ROANOKE, Ind. (WOWO) – Ground was broken for a new Roanoke Elementary School Monday.

Our partners in news at ABC 21 report the existing Roanoke Elementary School is close to 100 years old and is in need of renovation. School leaders determined it to be cheaper to build a new school rather than renovate the old one.

The new building should be ready for use by the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year.
