A new annual report lists Hamilton County as the healthiest county in Indiana. The County Health Rankings are conducted by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation every year. The rankings are based on a series of health outcomes and factors including mortality, morbidity, health behaviors, clinical care, social and economic factors, and physical environment. Hamilton County ranked number one in all categories except morbidity, where it came in 3rd and physical environment, coming in 5th in that category. Hendricks County ranked 2nd and Boone County was 3rd. Duboise and LaGrange Counties rounded out the top five. The least healthy county was Scott County. Vermillion, Sullivan, Orange, and Jennings Counties filled out the bottom five. Marion County ranked 79th. Allen County was 40th. The entire list and individual statistics can be viewed on the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation website, www.countyhealthrankings.org.
