I&M Breaks Ground On Its First Solar Generation Facility

MARION, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana Michigan Power has broken ground on its first solar generation facility.

The facility will consist of about 10,000 solar panels on about 17 acres just south of Marion.

It will have a capacity of 2.5 megawatts and all those panels will hopefully start generating energy by the end of the year.

The Deer Creek solar facility is the first of it's kind for I&M and AEP. Construction is expected to begin in a few weeks.
