Indiana is a Top State for Preventable Train Accidents

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Many drivers take the risk- often with deadly consequences.

In the last year, 59 people in the state were either hurt or killed in accidents at railroad crossings, placing Indiana among the top states in the country for preventable train accidents.

Nearly two dozen officers from Marion, Morgan and Johnson counties had an opportunity Tuesday to witness the dangers for themselves. According to Network Indiana, those officers took day-long trips from Indianapolis to Bloomington, and back to see the hazards associated with trains.
