Indiana Legion Dedicates New Headquarters Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ The largest veterans organization in Indiana is moving its state headquarters after 88 years in its current location.

The Indiana Department of the American Legion is relocating from a spot adjacent to the Legion's national headquarters in downtown Indianapolis to the former Fort Benjamin Harrison in the city of Lawrence, an enclave in northeast Indianapolis.

It has scheduled a dedication of a new headquarters building for Sunday afternoon.

The Indiana Legion was chartered Aug. 1, 1921 and has been headquartered on the American Legion Mall in downtown Indianapolis since 1926. Its building there is being taken over by the Indiana state archives.
