Indianapolis Mass Transit Bill Clears Both Houses

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Lawmakers have approved funding for an expanded bus system to serve the greater Indianapolis area. The bill would allow counties in Delaware, Hamilton, Hancock, Johnson, Madison and Marion counties to raise taxes if voters approve in a referendum. The Indianapolis Star and the Indianapolis Business Journal report different versions of the bill have passed both houses of the Legislature and it now goes back to the Senate for approval.
