Indy Public Safety Director Speaking Out About Police Action Shooting

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Indianapolis Public Safety Director Troy Riggs spoke out about a Friday morning shooting that involved a metro police officer.

Riggs says it marks the eighth time an officer has been shot in the past year-and-a-half. He adds crime suspects have more sophisticated weaponry these days and are almost always repeat offenders involved in the drug trade. The city is gearing up to put more officers on city streets and Riggs says that they will have more on that topic next week.
